Rogue River Kayaking

One of the wonderful natural gems of Southern Oregon, the mighty Rogue River spans a brilliant 43 miles complete with nearly 100 rapids that will suite the novice while also thrilling the experienced kayaker. Beginning high in the Cascade Mountains, boaters may encounter Blue Heron, deer, Canadian geese, osprey and even mink.

Located 57 miles from Ashland, The Middle Fork Gorge and the Mill Creek sections of the Rogue River offer experienced kayakers Class IV and V rapids, appeasing the experienced kayaker with extreme drop-offs and challenging channels.

Most visit the Grave Creek, which begins with 1.5-miles of slow moving water, before descending onto the more challenging, yet thrilling, Class III rapids as the river nears Whiskey Creek. After defeating the mighty Slim Pickens and the Wildcat rapids, boaters will have access to campsite, lodges and even the one-time cabin of novelist Zane Grey.

Directions: From Ashland, travel I-5 north to Medford exit 30 and take a right onto OR-62 East. Travel 40 miles to Katvdid Road and an immediate right onto Mill Creek Drive, where you will find river access points.
