Last week we started our Ashland News feature with some positive environmental news, and this week we lead off with an environmental and logging bill introduced by Oregon Senator Ron Wyden. “The Oregon & California Land Grant Act of 2013” would split federal land in two, half of which would protect old growth forests, water, wildlife and fish and half that would be open to logging. Yesterday we posted our first of three reviews for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s 2013 Season. We started with the shows at the Bowmer Theatre. Be on the look out for reviews of the Thomas Theatre and Elizabethan Theatre shows and a preview of the 2014 season! LINK

As Ashland is clearly heavily influenced by the arts, we launched our blog series called “Ashland Art” last week, which will feature a variety of art modalities. Last week’s post featured poetry by three local writers. LINK

Despite it being Thanksgiving tomorrow, there are still plenty of activities and options in Ashland this week to keep you entertained and engaged. Check out our ideas for what to do for the rest of the week, including the Festival of Light on Friday and the Lithia Artisans Christmas Faire from Friday through Sunday at the Historic Ashland Armory. In what is sure to be a beauty, over 30 local photographers have teamed up to make a coffee table book about Ashland, appropriately name “Ashland, Oregon”. LINK*
