Our local farmer’s market is back! The Rogue Valley Growers & Crafters market opened yesterday. Visit our calendar page for more information for the Tuesday (now open) and Saturday (starting 5/3) markets. LINK

We love our coffee here in Ashland, as evidenced by the plethora of wonderful coffee shops in town. We name our four favorite coffee spots in town, and provide a shout-out to the other great spots as well. Last week the Faculty Senate of SOU announced the results of their confidence votes of SOU President Mary Cullinan, Provost Jim Klein, and Vice President of Finance and Administration Craig Morris. The three received “no confidence” votes of 63%, 71% and 76% respectively. LINK*

This week features one of the top jam bands playing in Ashland in Umphrey’s McGee at the Historic Ashland Armory. What else is happening in town? Some of our favorites are listed here: LINK

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is opening a huge 71,500 square foot production facility in Talent for stage, prop and costume production. One can visit this Saturday from 11am-1pm. LINK*

Ashland Parks and Recreation has a surplus of funds and is considering where to allocate the funds. They are considering a second dog park on the south side of town and extending a sidewalk on Winburn Way by Lithia Park. LINK*

Good news for the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument as it just added 900 acres to its conservation area of now 61,700 acres. LINK*

More good news – two philanthropists are offering grants of $2500 and $5000 to visual artists and art teachers. LINK*
