*The Oregon Shakespeare Festival announced it received an $80,000 National Endowment for the Arts grant. The funds will support OSF’s 2015 U.S. premier of “Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land”.

*If you’ve seen smoke up in the hills above Ashland recently, you’ll know that forest restoration controlled burning has begun.

*Ashland teenager Hannah Thomas-Garner has been missing for nearly 3 weeks now, and many in the community gathered in the Ashland plaza to hold a vigil and pray for her safe return.*

*Ashland Parks and Recreation released their Winter/Spring recreation guide. Check it out if you haven’t done so already for their fantastic medley of classes and offerings!

*Speaking of Ashland Parks and Rec, the ice rink is opening tomorrow (December 19th)!

*Speaking of winter sporting activities, Mt. Ashland Ski Area will also open tomorrow!

*Now is a good moment to remind you we have all sorts of outdoor activity information on our website, including snowshoeing, skiing/snowboarding and cross-country skiing spots for you to check out.

*Oregon Ground Works share ideas for winter gardening projects.

*The Oregon Court of Appeals has upheld the process by which Clatsop County commissioners rejected a proposed liquefied natural gas pipeline.*

*Employment figures in Oregon have finally surpassed pre-2007 levels. The state unemployment rate is at 7%.*

*SOU Sports Update:
