Ashland has started to crack down on those illegally renting out their houses on a short-term basis to tourists. It is a controversial action and is putting many people in a tough place financially. LINK*

Park officials at Crater Lake National Park are considering rerouting some of the Pacific Crest Trails’ paths, for the dual purpose to improve the trails and to reduce erosion. LINK*

The Ashland City Council has unanimously voted to put a 3-4 month moratorium on the opening of new medical marijuana dispensaries. LINK*

“Camp Low Echo, a Lake of the Woods retreat for generations of Girl Scouts that was put on the market last year, has been purchased by the Sid and Karen DeBoer foundation. It will be restored and made available for a range of groups and events, including camping, youth organizations and Scouts.” LINK*
