About Us – Insight to Ashland

Insight to Ashland was founded in 2012 by Andy Harris, a recent transplant to the area who found a need for easily attainable, consolidated, online information about the wonders of Ashland, the Rogue Valley and Southern Oregon. To provide top-notch information, he turned to many great local writers to provide first-hand knowledge of Ashland.

The website was established to enhance visitors and locals experience of this wonderful town, while at the same time providing an outlet for local businesses to reach potential customers. To this end, he decided that any local business could be provided with extremely inexpensive business listing at only $60 per year. Our hope is that this will help contribute to the local economy and help strengthen the local businesses community.

We believe that one of the core responsibilities of business is to do what it can to support the health of our local communities and the increasingly fragile environment. Our goal as a business to it equally care for the “triple bottom line” – the people of the community, the planet that sustains us, and our profits. We therefore pledge to donate a minimum of 5% of our net revenue to non-for-profit organizations that care for our world on a daily basis. You may see occasional giving campaigns where people who visit our site will be able to determine which organizations we should support, so please be on the look-out for those opportunities.

About our founder – Andy Harris

Andy has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel and live in numerous spots across the country and internationally. During these adventures, he often relied on excellent online information to quickly acquaint himself with the local landscapes.

Upon moving to Ashland, he noticed that much of the local knowledge was spread by word of mouth or located across multiple websites. Insight to Ashland was designed to help people find excellent, updated information on Ashland to help them have as great of an experience in Ashland as possible.

Andy is originally from Chicago, Illinois. He is extremely happy to be living in Ashland between two sublime sets of mountains in a town that also provides incredible cultural opportunities.

He enjoys connecting with the local community and helping businesses improve their visibility via online marketing and advertising opportunities.
